New Centre Dedicated to Innovative Filtration Solutions

AAF International recently opened a new Clean Air Innovation & Research Center (Clean AIR Center) in Jeffersonville, Indiana. The $5.4 million Clean AIR Center, which is 3.000 square meter, represents a significant advancement in research and development efforts for both AAF International and the global air filtration industry.

Nathaniel Nance, Global Director of Research and Development, oversees project work at the Clean AIR Center. He has more than 15 years of experience in filter testing and application development. Rahul Bharadwaj, Senior Global Product Engineer, and Michael Osborne, Global Innovation Manager, in addition to a dedicated team, work with Nathaniel to develop innovative filtration solutions.

The centre will create 25 new high-tech research and development jobs in Jeffersonville by 2018. The positions are expected to pay more than 2.5 times higher than Clark County's average wage. The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered AAF International up to $375,000 in tax credits based on these job creation plans. The new facility can accommodate a total of 40 employees, primarily in research and development. At the public grand opening, Phil Whitaker, CEO, said that "This investment will help foster the innovation and success that will ensure our leadership position in air filtration for the next 100 years.”

The first floor of the Clean AIR Center features 25,000 square feet of lab, testing and storage space, including a media materials development lab and a fully functional machine room. Advanced testing capabilities include a dedicated UL filter testing room and TCO Diagnostic, a new proprietary software technology recently developed by AAF International that provides locally optimised air handling analysis based on filter environments.
